In love with old books, Lucie Monin was destined to restore them. During her studies at the Centre des Arts du Livre - formerly the Arts Déco - it was a revelation. She discovered a profusion of gilded covers. Covers decorated with gold filigree engraved on worn and patinated leather. More than just book covers, they reflect a style, a fashion, an era, a history.

Before being inspired to write her own story, Lucie enters L'École Bleu, a school of architecture and design. Here, she learns a new approach to volume and material. She is inspired and defines her own style little by little. A poetic and feminine universe whose drawings are borrowed from minimalist geometric figures and curved lines of a rare finesse.

Hand-engraved gold decorations

Gilding Artist, Lucie Monin revisits this thousand-year-old know-how in fields that are dear to her: decoration and fashion.

Dresses, jackets, handbags, shoes, murals, posters, photos, mirrors, candles, seats, trays... Lucie adorns all types of objects with her paw and works on many different materials. She works on leather, exotic leather, parchment, silk, Corian, paper, paper mache, fur, Plexiglas or acetate.

Nothing stops her. Moreover, the most famous luxury houses solicit her to dress and enrich their most beautiful pieces.

With small bronze irons that she heats up, she applies 22K/24K gold in the material. Gold designs of course, but also silver, bronze or other colors. Each project is made to measure!

A meticulous and elegant work that takes shape through initials, a logo, a mantra or a specific design. All this to sublimate an object, to make it unique.

Unique achievements

For each of her creations, Lucie Monin seeks to share a part of her sensitivity. "The idea is to give life to all my creations, to create movement through each setting: to bring a rhythm, a story, a poetry, to define pauses and find a notion of aesthetic balance. I like the notion of surprise, to intervene where one does not expect it...".

From fashion to decoration, what she seeks is to create a feeling of escape, to create a time to dream.

A universe that has seduced the biggest brands such as Loewe, Balenciaga, Delvaux, Le Tanneur, Carvil, Dr. Marteens or Thierry Lasry in Fashion.

On the decoration side, she imagines -among other things! - a large mural for AER architecture. It took her no less than 55 hours of work to sublimate the space in a poetic way. For A -Broad Studio, she unveils an architectural decoration in 22k gold, inspired by stained glass windows on a fire extinguisher turned lamp.

For ADS Casa, she created a unique and precious cushion. Not to mention the mirror designed for the exhibitions "L'antre de Lucie Monin" at the Hoxton Hotel, then at the Crillon Hotel.

A mirror with 22K gold perspectives that create a precious surreal filter. Whether it is a commission or a carte blanche, Lucie Monin surprises and dazzles us.
