In love with old books, Lucie wanted to restore them. It was while studying at the Centre des Arts du Livre, formerly the known as the Arts Déco within the Musée des Arts Décoratif Paris, that she discovered a profusion of gilded covers, ‘Gold filigree engraved forever on leather worn by time, reflecting a style, a fashion, a history, an era, left untouched’. Later at the Ecole Bleue, a school of interior architecture and design, she learned a new approach to volume and materials. It was from this wealth of inspiration; she developed her uniquely rich style. Influenced by music, antiquity, romanticism, pointillism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and particularly 1930's architecture and decorative arts, her style remains poetic and feminine. Her rare finesse is clearly visible in her drawings which are either are minimalist geometrical figures or flowing curved lines.

Today, the artist daringly combines the skills and beauty of ancient craftsmanship into fashion, architecture and interior design. Thus, bringing thier ancient beauty into new demains. Enabling a freedom of expression which is vibrant and alive; thereby forging a connection between art and craft and creating a bridge between the past and present.  She regularly collaborates with prestigious houses. These artistic partnerships are opportunities to express her creativity and talent.

Allowing her to perceive the world differently and share her sensitivity, she likes to create a feeling of escape, time to pause and a moment to oppose the driving force of ‘futurism ever present in today's society’ where the time to dream has no place.

She designs and engraves by hand in 22-carat/24-carat gold and occasionally uses colour.

“ The idea is to bring life into all my creations, through movement; evoking a rhythm, story or poetry in each unique piece which defines a pause and achieves an aesthetic balance. The pencil stroke will sometimes be deliberately light and hesitant or, conversely, much stronger and more precise. Utilising the technique of Pointillism delivers a lightness, sometimes a disconcerting relief or even the movement I seek. Ultimately, I aspire to express myself using an entire space. Treating every surface as part of the same canvas. Applying my designs on the floor, ceiling, walls and objects within the space in order to create a precious cocoon in which one is emersed to dream, read and feel good and alive. A special place to find inspiration, clarity and peace to work or escape unencumbered .” Lucie
