The Hoxton

2019

"L'Antre de Lucie Monin", an event presented at Hoxton Paris in June 2019, testifies to a multiplicity of inspirations ranging from Romanticism to Pointillism through the Baroque universe to the Arts Deco.  The artist clearly highlighted the fact that the essence of her work always begins with a set that she draws upstream.

Many pieces were presented, showing a quantity of various materials on which Lucie Monin expressed herself. Thus, we could discover among others :  large photos enhanced with gold pointillism revealing a strong visual impact from a distance, astonishing lamps in the form of fire extinguishers in burnt wood worked with 3 different gold decorations, pieces of high leather goods, surprising skateboards , an amazing mirror with precious perspectives, then a real olfactory journey with steatite and gold candles, horn cutlery as well as cushions and ostrich eggs on which golden nets sparkled surrounded by plants covered with golden filigree. ..  It is also a wink to the novel "A Rebours" by Joris-Karl Huysmans, each object stands out for its preciousness, its uniqueness and the sense of detail in each.
